Class cancelled – Handling Difficult Circumstances, Thursday, September 29

Please note, due to the projected  path of  Hurricane Ian on Thursday, September 29, we have decided to cancel the Zoom class, Handling Difficult Circumstances. The instructor for this class will potentially be impacted by the storm. If you’re interested, this class is also offered as a Zoom class on November 3. Important Fall Registration Information

Dear Students, Welcome to our website. We are excited for the Fall semester to begin! Registration for courses will begin on Wednesday, September 7. Please be sure to use the Course Brochure and CEU Matrix in your course selection process. You can find a link to both in the menu ribbon on the home page by hovering over the words “Course Brochure.” This is where you’ll find instructions regarding how to register, withdraw or to check if you’re enrolled or not. You’ll also be able to determine class start time/length and other important details. The Course Brochure is the official version we will follow should be there be any conflicting information on the LMS site. The Course Brochure may also contain additional details not included in the information on the LMS site, so please take the time to include this step. We have made some updates to the LMS site where you register for the courses. When you login for the first time this semester, you’ll be directed to update your profile.  Please supply the information indicated as required. Please check this space for updates before travelling to any class. This blog will be our central space for providing up to date information. Thank you joining us. Withdraw Process

“Please be kind and withdraw if you’re unable to attend an upcoming class. We have many people waiting to register for classes that are currently full. This includes many Zoom classes. We are now issuing “No show” notices for students who do not withdraw and then fail to attend classes. Click the Continue to confirm the unenrol/withdraw.”

FAQS for Course Registration

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions regarding account creation and registration for courses: I created an account, but I haven’t yet received a confirmation email. What do I do?  The account confirmation process can take 24- 48 hours. In the meantime, please continue to check your email, including spam/junk files. Your account will be confirmed if you have used a valid DFS ID number. If you still haven’t seen an email after 48 hours, please try to login and register. If, at that point you are receiving a message regarding account confirmation, please email jsteele@kean.edu. I thought I registered for a class, but now I’m seeing a message that says “Unable to join” what does that mean? This message means that the class is in the future and the Zoom link associated with it is not able to open because it is not yet time for the class to begin. Please follow the instructions in the brochure to confirm online that you are now registered for the classes you enrolled in. See the brochure, page 6 for instructions on this process. How do I withdraw/unenroll from a class? You are now able to login and withdraw/unenroll from classes directly from your account. Please see the brochure, page 5 for instructions on this process.

New Process to Withdraw From Courses

New Process to Withdraw From Courses We are excited to share a new process which allows students to withdraw from classes. We ask that all withdrawals be made at least one business day in advance of the class in order to allow other students to attend. For example, a class that begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday would require a withdrawal by 8:30 a.m. the Friday before. Here is a link to a video explanation of the process.
