Utilizing The Scientific Method In Fire Investigations

Use of the Scientific Method while performing fire investigations has taken on greater importance in recent years. This is due in part to a fundamental and better understanding of fire phenomenon and fire dynamics  as well as several landmark rulings in the court system. The courts are placing more emphasis on determining whether or not an expert in the field has used proper methodology when arriving at his/her conclusion.  This course will provide an overview of the Scientific Method and its application by fire investigators when conducting their investigations because it is understood that their methodology could come under scrutiny.
