Modern health-care facilities present many challenges for fire department responses and fire inspections. This course will provide an in depth review of various health-care facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living and ambulatory health-care occupancies. The course will provide examples of pre-planning and response strategies emphasizing the importance of all life safety equipment in the health-care environment, focusing on the special hazards found in health-care facilities. Emphasis will be place on how the NJ Uniform Fire Code applies to health-care facilities in this heavily regulated environment.
