Community Risk Reduction

The Community Risk Reduction Unit handles a number of statewide programs for the NJ Division of Fire Safety, all focused on preventing the loss of life and property throughout New Jersey by reaching out to communities, fire departments, schools, and citizens.   The Unit is responsible for a number of statewide initiatives that include:

  • Youth Firesetter Prevention and Intervention Programs
  • Operation Save-a-Life Smoke Alarm Distribution
  • New Jersey F.I.R.E. Bowl Competition
  • Fire Focus Online Newsletter
  • New Jersey Fire Safety Poster Contest/Calendar
  • Development/Customization of Fire Safety Education Materials for Local Departments
  • Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment
