Fire Inspector Written Exam Registration Instructions
To register for the Fire Inspector Written Exam or any other DFS Course you will need to login to a myNewJersey account that is linked to the Division of Fire Safety.
Please note that your “linked” account is not the same as a RIMS account or Pension account.
If you have never registered for a course or exam online in the past, you will most likely need to create an account.
- Open either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as your browser
- Go to www.keanfiresafety.com
- Click on Registration Help
- Click on myNewJersey Account Set-up and Authorization
- Follow the screen prompts to create a myNewJersey account. Write down the Login Id and Password you create.
- Open a new page in your browser.
- Go to www.keanfiresafety.com
- Click on Registration Help
- Click on Registration Videos
- Watch the video, How to register for NJ Division of Fire Safety courses
- Return to your myNewJersey account and proceed to register. If you need to login in again, go to www.nj.gov and click on the “login” link on the upper left side of the screen.
If you think you already have an account, you can check what your login Id is by going to www.nj.gov . Click on “Login”, the link is located in the upper left hand corner of the website. Next, when you get to the login screen, click on “Forgot your logon id” and follow the prompts. You can also reset your password from the login screen.
The course id for the Fire Inspector Written Exam is FIW15. For further information on the exam, please see page 30 in the course brochure. The Course brochure can be downloaded from www.keanfiresafety.com
