Search Strategies and Tactics

All units  we have a report of victims trapped…   This radio report gets every firefighter a little more on edge. We operate with suspicion that people may be entrapped but when it is known  we tend to get more ramped up. This class will discuss the various types of structure fires we encounter and where victims can be located. Various topics will be covered to enhance the ability to search for trapped victims depending upon us to save them. The focus will be on decision making and prioritization for areas to search  as well as methods to improve our search tactics and strategies.
