Captain Christopher Flatley Capt. Christopher Flatley is a 26-year veteran of the FDNY having worked most of his career in the borough of Manhattan. He is currently assigned to Division 6 in the South Bronx, but is working in the FDNYs Center on Terrorism and Disaster Preparedness (CTDP) in the Intelligence and Risk Management section. He has recently returned from a one year fellowship to the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) in Washington, DC. He worked in the Interagency Threat Assessment Coordination Group (ITACG) and the follow-on program the Joint Counterterrorism Assessment Team (JCAT) where he wrote and developed finished intelligence products for the state and local first responders and provided fire service perspective to the intelligence community. He is a graduate of the West Point Military Academy Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) Counterterrorism Leadership Program and the Department of Homeland Security’s Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) program Captain Flatley has lectured nationally on various fire service topics and has written articles for leading fire service publications including Fire Engineering and Firehouse magazines, Size Up the quarterly magazine of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs and WNYF, the Official publication of the Fire Department City of New York. He has authored chapters in Fire Engineering’s Handbook for Firefighter 1 & 2 published by Pennwell in 2009.
