There are two methods to register for courses – by phone or with the Web-based Course
Registration Process. To register for courses using the Internet, go to the Fire Safety home page
(www.state.nj.us/dca/dfs) and click away! Log-on instructions are in this brochure.
If you prefer, you can register by telephone at 609-324-7563.

REGISTRATION PERIODS

FIRST REGISTRATION - The first registration period begins Monday, August 24, 2009,
and will continue through Friday, August 28, 2009. This period is reserved for appointed
(working) fire officials, fire inspectors and fire service instructors. Registration will be limited
to two courses.

SECOND REGISTRATION - The second registration period, from Monday, August 31,
2009, through Friday, September 4, 2009, is for appointed and non-appointed personnel
to register. If you have already registered for two courses during the first registration period,
you must wait until the open registration period to register for additional courses.
A maximum of two registrations will be permitted before September 8, 2009.

OPEN REGISTRATION - The open registration period begins on Tuesday, September 8,
2009, and continues through the semester. You may register for additional courses at this
time. Initially, registration is limited to a maximum of six courses during the semester.
However, registration will be permitted for additional courses on a space-available basis.
Credit will not be issued for repeated courses which have already been completed within
your active certification cycle. The Division of Fire Safety reserves the right to limit the
number of enrollments per person.

TELEPHONE REGISTRATION - Please select the seminar you wish to attend and call in
your choice to DFS at 609-324-7563 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday
through Friday. Be prepared to register for alternate courses if your first choice is filled.
When you call in your registration, be sure to have your six-digit Fire Service Identification
Number (1xxxxx). A reminder notice will be mailed to you prior to the scheduled course
date. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A REMINDER WITHIN TWO DAYS OF THE COURSE DATE,
PLEASE CALL THE DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY TO VERIFY YOUR REGISTRATION.
