Sandy Chou

Sandy Chou joined the Fire Safety Training Program at Kean
University in Union New Jersey in 2004 as a Program Specialist.
Sandy currently assists with the implementation of training and
certification initiatives. Such activities include: administering
the semester training schedule, facilitating the certification
examination processes, contributing to the communication efforts
through course evaluation preparation and database maintenance.
Prior to joining Kean University, Sandy was the Training Director of
a computer services and IT career training company. While there,
Sandy had responsibility for overseeing all administrative tasks and
providing technical and non-technical support to all students and
instructors. Before that, Sandy was a project manager with
end-to-end responsibility for project management, custom training
and operation manuals development at an engineering company.
Sandy earned her Master degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering
from Rutgers University.

Jolene Steele
Program Specialist

Jolene became a part of the Fire Safety Training Program in 2006 as
a Program Specialist. She comes from a diverse background with
experience in legal research and writing, technical writing, project
management and customer service.
In her role with the Fire Safety Training Program, Jolene is a point
of contact for general inquiries regarding the program. In addition,
she coordinates the production of course material and provides
editorial support of the Program’s communications. With a Program
goal to enhance the quality of the educational experience, she
critically analyzes the course evaluation process. She has also
taken responsibility for the maintenance of the Program’s website
with an eye to providing an expanded resource to the fire community.
After earning a B.A. degree in Communications, Jolene went on to
complete her education with a J.D. degree from Rutgers School of Law
in Camden.
